Adventures to Lodwar

Today we leave for Lodwar. The puppy is acting weird she usually loves to obey the commands. Maybe she can sense that we're leaving her for a few days. I dunno. Anyways, will update when we reach Lodwar. Taking a bus there with pastor Tim.Should be a nice weekend.

Adventures in Eldoret

The day before yesterday my husband and I went to Eldoret to renew my visa. We were successful! We decided to visit family, an aunt and Uncle and some cousins. It was a nice time away so we decided to extend it a bit. We picked a cheap hotel in town. Called the Golden guest house(very nice if you don't have a lot of money.)Then we decided to go make sure we knew where aunty lives. We found it on the way back this nice hotel caught my attention so for next time Jimmy and I decided hey why not check it out. We liked it alot. We ended up staying there in a luxury suit that only cost 1300 Ksh/ night It's called The Relax Inn. Very nice comes with breakfast. And It wasn't a small breakfast. Started us off with fruit and mango juice then went on to Cereal, finally ended with tea, toast, eggs and sausage. It was awesome. Then Jimmy and I went out in the morning to hang out with our cousins. Maggie and I went shopping together for a sweater for me, it's getting cold, we ended up buying 2 sweaters and a jacket for under 10 dollars. Jimmy got some much needed T-shirts and then we left. We took a nice drive back to Kitale. It was beautiful the sun was shining and the roads were fixed or being fixed. I enjoyed relaxing with my husband. We got home at 1:20pm and we of course needed to wash the car. We went to this gas station with a cafeteria beside it. We ate while the car was being washed and then i picked up the food we needed and then Jimmy needed to go teach at the fireplace. He went and taught and came home to me making dinner. I made an African dinner. Sukumawiki, Ugali and beef stew. This is the first time I've cooked African. Well Jimmy was shocked and delighted. I of course conquered these dishes. :P We went to sleep by 9:30 last night. It was great. I am just waiting on my husband to get home now. I spent the whole day cleaning the house. It was nice and quiet. Anyways, Leaving for Lodwar tomorrow morning. Not sure how excited i am about public transport but it will have to do. Anyways, be good. Stay safe.

Kitale Adventure

Today I am going into town to meet a Canadian friend of mine named Francine. Her and her husband, Larry, have been here since September 2010. She's alot of fun. They're here of course on missions. After I meet up with her I decided today i just want to walk through town and see who i see and meet who i meet. You never know. I am excited to see what the day holds. Many good things I hope.

On another note, Pastor Tim, is my brother-in-law as I've said before. He together with his wife,Sally, have 2 beautiful children, Favor age 7(He just turned 7, 2 weeks ago) and Dorcus age 6 months. My little Niece Dorcus is very sick right now. She needs as much prayer as we can give her. She is so small. One of the pastors from Pastor Tim's church Ken just lost him 7 month old to malaria. Please pray that it doesn't happen to my brother-in-law.

On that same note. My brother-in-law in Germany named Joe and his wife Mirjam have 2 lovely kids. One age 5 named Esther and the other age 5 months name Elisha. Once again a hurricane has hit for that family as Elisha was born with a big heart. They were on the edge of losing her when she started to fight as we sent out prayer team messages and God came through for us giving her strength to fight. Now she needs prayer for either her heart to become a normal size or a new heart. Joe is believing for a new heart. So pray for strength for my new family.

Jimmy is off to meet with Pastor Tim to get the final know abouts on the missions trip to Lodwar. and I'm off to finish the dishes. By the way. This morning when I wokeup...Jimmy was doing the dishes. :D He's wonderful!

Sunday

Today I woke up to wonderful swahili worship. There's a church that is in our neighbors yard. Our neighbor is also our cousin on Jimmy's side. She's the pastors wife. She is really cool. Her name is Maggie. We have like 8 Maggie's in the family and a million Timothy's. Jimmy and I attend another Church called Faith Community Church. It's more in town than we are right now. It's a really big church. Very beautiful. Jimmy and I have made a decision on behalf of the congregation that we will not be sharing the service with them as we don't want to share our cold with them. We have in fact decided to watch the service in Canada this evening at live.gracemb.ca. It's nice to be a part of both services but we don't like to share....our cold. This week sounds very busy to me. We have to go to Eldoret before the end of the week because my visa will run out on the 30th. We're getting a multi-entry visa so I can go with Jimmy to places like Tanzania and Uganda and South Africa. :) Sounds like fun. Also this week we will be out at a place that starts with an M,it's part of Kitale. I can't remember. We'll be out there with a guy called Moraiya at his ministry of speaking to Prostitutes and Recovering Drug addicts. All of the recovery guys are still or were into hard drugs like cocaine. And there are 3 pregnant prostitutes and one with a baby. The great news of this program is that Moraiya has enrolled them in school. So they go to the daily meetings and then off to school to learn. The best part of the school is it costs 11,000 shillings to go. And If you want to sponser a recovering guy or girl. Just comment and I'll get ahold of you. This program is doing wonders I could tell last week when I met all of the lovely people. 11,000 shillings by the way is 130 CAD. For College. Anyways, We'll be out there wednesday and thursday this week. Friday My husband and I are going to a place called Lodwar. Jimmy says it will take a whole day to get there. We're not taking the car. We're going on a bus. well maybe a Matatu. Pray for health. We'll be in Lodwar until monday. Ministering to the locals there. I'm told the roads to get there are absolutely atrocious. I'm sure we'll be fine. Off to the mission field we go once more. Anyways my husband and I are going to hang out now. That's all for today. God Bless you! Thanks for reading.

Catching Up

So I have alot of catching up to do I'll start with April. In April My husband and I got married on the 17th. :D yay it was a great day.

April 1-13:

For Jimmy and I this time was used for wedding planning as well as missions. We spent time in attempt to help our close personal friends become closer to God and each other. We united a Dancer with a group of Dancers. We arranged my father and my husbands brother so that they could go on missions. Which they went and spoke to many people on several locations.

April 14:

8:00am- I got Malaria with systems of vomit. We were on our way to a town way out in the bush called pokot. I was blessed to have vomited before we even left Kitale. My brother-in-law Pastor Tim insisted that we go to the Doctors. So we went to visit my new Uncle Dr. Njenga. I was diagnosed and sent off with a script for Lonart the Malaria drug thing. Then afterwards off to Pokot. We left at 10 and the ride was to take 4 hours. It took us 8. We arrived in pokot after trading our transportation broke down twice. It was dusk and there was 1 incandescent light bulb. I felt like i was going to pass out so Jimmy took me out to the car and I laid down in the back seat. I was called back in to give out clothing that we had brought along. As we gave the clothing to the children Natalia was in her element enjoying the ministry she had come to do. We returned home that night at around 3:30 am. The trip home was a quarter of the length there. Could be because I was sleeping or because the vehicle didn't break down whatever it was, whatever.

April 24-30:

Dad, Jimmy, Natalia and I went to Nairobi to drop dad off at the airport so he could return to the home land. :P After dad left on the 26th we went to Kikuyu to help a good friend with her Children's home. We did the plumbing and put a sink in. As well as shoveled to put the pipes in. It was a blast.

May 1-12:

My husband and I traveled to schools to minister to students during what they call weekend challenges. We saw many lives change. We also worked with the dancer boys at "The Fire Place".

May12- 30: My husband and I made a trip to Nairobi for about 2 weeks to apply for His Canadian Visa. Which was denied. We were alright with this verdict. And will try again someday soon.

May 31: We dropped Natalia off at the airport.

June 1: We arrive home to our new house. It has 2 bedrooms a living room and shower and toilet and a kitchenish thing. :P It's a lovely yellow...same color as moms kitchen at home. We settled in.

June 3: We got a puppy. She's so cute. We named her Elsie after my late aunt.

June 23: My husband and I tag team preach to recovering drug addicts and prostitutes. We spoke about the love of God to them. It was warmly welcomed. This is where my passion lies. I feel the calling of God on my life in this area. So After planning for months my husband and I are about to launch PureLove. I will tell of the ministry in a later chapter of this blog. My husband and I were on our way into town when we got a call asking Jimmy to speak to a group of Youth about worship.

June 24: Jimmy went to speak on worship again.

June 25: Jimmy and I are sick. I stayed home in bed as he went out to speak at school in a local village. He came home at about 3pm and we went to buy groceries. This is up to date. We will write more elaborate blogs in the future.
