Adventures of the walking dead.

Reason for the title: A friend told me this week about her realization. God says when he's in the cave with Moses I think... You cannot see my glory and live. Then in the New Testament it tells of a story of Moses and Elijah appearing. They were in heaven and they were very much alive they saw God's glory. Ah. So you think I'm saying the bible is wrong...No I'm not. I'm saying in Galations 2 the bible says we must die to live. IE If we die to ourselves we are no longer living but are infact dead so therefore we can in fact see the glory of God and live. God is good all the time and all the time God is good.

So Yesterday was sunday. My husband and I woke up and went to church. During the service the pastor, Pastor Ochieng, was preaching about something important. At this point I can't remember what it was. After church Jimmy and I went to a couples fellowship. It was nice to hear about other peoples marriages and how they were failing and how they were prospering. It was so nice to hear about this and learn from them the longest married people have been married for 21 years. then 19 and all the way down to 3 years. Then there was my husband and I and it was our 3 month anniversary! :D 9 more to go for our 1 year :) I'm so excited.

Today Jimmy and I woke up at 7:30 because last night we fell asleep at 9:30 and well I was up a little later than Jimmy until 11:30. I made Jimmy a PB and J last night but he didn't eat it because by the time I finished making it he was fast alseep. He doesn't want me to say this but i think it's too funny. When I got back to the bed after making his sandwhich and said hunny I made you a PB and J. Jimmy promptly sat up and said "PEANUT BUTTER AND JAM, OH THANK YOU I'M SO HUNGRY!" And then he was out again without even touching the sandwhich. It was soooooo funny.

Our puppy is getting her injection tomorrow. I am happy about that. I took her for a very long walk today. :) She enjoyed it. Then when we got home she drank a ton of water. :) mmm....I'm hungry. I think I'll go make some foooooood! and prep supper. Chicken and spaghetti. :)Jimmy loves it.

Chow!

Adventures in Mitume

As the people who read this blog know, My husband and I are heavily into Ministry. We are either organizing a mission or we are on one every day. That's why I haven't updated the blogg in a few days. I've been exhausted the past week. For me everyday is alot of work even just going into town or being around people. I find it hard to understand what people are saying. I am learning Swahili very very slowly. I am saying that its hard work. However I am not saying that I don't like it. In fact I love it. When my husband is around it's a whole lot easier because at least he talks and I can understand his accent and unless he's half asleep he speaks in English. Haha, last night he fell asleep watching a movie and I woke him up and he was just speaking in swahili to me. I couldn't help but laugh. Anyways,

Today, well, today I woke up early with my hubby and as he went to check up with the piki piki's I made breakfast. breakfast consisted of PB and J. I also sliced some oranges. AND I made Mochas. YUM! sax that's the musical instrument that I was thinking about the other day I couldn't think of the name. It just came to me. Ok thats how distracted i am. squirrel. :)

I was in Mitume today. I was speaking to a group of girls who are former prostitutes. There were about 8 of them there. Two with babies and two pregnant. They decided they had had enough of prostitution and met this guy names Moraiya. Moraiya is a youth pastor at Faith Community Church here in Kitale. He works with prostitutes and drug addicts he helps them get cleaned up and start living for Jesus. I am going to this group more in the future I have committed myself. Anyways. I shared on faith today and to be doers of the word and not just hearers. It was great I spoke for about a half hour on this. That was my day today I was to go to dinner at a friends house but they cancelled maybe next time :P

Anyways Blessings.

Adventures of a mzungu

Today I woke up like any other day as Jimmy was getting out of bed to go work on something. It was only 7:20am and there were people outside. Quickly getting dressed Jimmy left the to open the door. The Piki Piki guys were here already. Jimmy took them to our pastor to get dedicated and prayed over. Jimmy returned by 8:15 to wake me up and told me our business was already starting. :P Yay! I then made breakfast for him and brought it out...OOOOPPPSSSS! I kind of dropped a mug on his plate which completely shattered it. I transferred his eggs to another plate trying not to get any glass in it. I was nearly successful. At least he didn't swallow any. I went to make tea after I cleaned it up. Then I went and spilt some juice. Today wasn't going quite as planned but at least Jimmy and I could seriously laugh about it. Then off he went to do some insurance things and then to the fireplace to teach worship. As I was about to do the dishes my phone rang. And it wasn't Jimmy it was Joni/Joanne. She asked if I would like to go out for coffee. I looked at what i was wearing and I quickly changed and did my hair. Off i went to find a piki piki to take me into town when one of our piki piki's came up behind me offering me a ride. :) Yay I didn't have to spend money on someone elses piki piki I spent it on my own. I met Joni and had so much fun I can't wait to hang out with her again. Came home did the dishes and ate something. Lol finally ate something. Anyways, God bless my battery is dying. chow chow.

Adventures of a stay at home wife

Well, Jimmy and I have been sick all week. I have Malaria and he has a cold. My stomach was so painful so Jimmy took my to the doctors. An uncle of ours, Dr. Njenga. It's been a boring time being sick. Although it's given me some time to pull out my swahili lesson book and start cracking down on learning swahili. Now I am typing to you this lovely blog that records my life's various events. As I write the song of my heart I am listening to the sweet melodies of Bob Acri, a Jazz genius. The sounds are soothing me to write in a very funny yet sophisticated way. The way that the sun is beating in through my window convinces me that the rain that was just pouring down was only temporary and so there are new beginnings in this world. The was the light rays dance off my cupboard makes me tired. I have some pictures I wanted to post of us in Lodwar as well. :D It was very much warm up there and I am glad to be home but I look forward to going back soon. And Yes I AM VERRRRRYYYY WHITE!

Lodwarian adventures.

We have landed in Lodwar this evening. Landed, sounds like we flew here. On the contrary. We took the bus. Jimmy woke up to buy the tickets at 6:30am and our busfinally left the station at around 12:30 pm(was supposed to be 9am.) Only to stop at the gas station and findanother route that police weren't on. This took another 1 hour. Finally our bus started moving at around 2pm. Jimmy was sitting by the window then me and then Pastor Tim. It was very sweaty. It felt as if we had chosen the hotest day in weeks to travel in a bus with 60 + other people. It was quiet an adventure as we stopped at nearly every town picking up or dropping off some people. There was this lady who just wanted to be such a pain in the butt she complained to everyone about the way she had to stand even though she was the last one on the bus. Kind of a spoil sport. Anyways, Jimmy and I Are exhuasted I'll tell you more tomorrow. Good night. Or good day dependingon when you read this.

God Bless
